In a Game 3 slugfest at Fenway Park, the Red Sox kept pace through the first three innings, tying the game twice and even taking their first lead of the series. But the Yankees roared back with a five-run fourth that put them ahead for good, leaving Boston with the unprecedented task of having to win the final four games of the series to avoid being ousted from the postseason.
