The Oakland A’s announced today that right-handed pitcher Rich Thompson has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento.

Thompson was designated for assignment Wednesday after appearing in one game for the A’s.  He tossed 0.2 scoreless innings against Chicago April 23 and has a 12.00 ERA in three relief appearances overall.  Thompson was claimed off waivers from Los Angeles (AL) a week ago today.
