A's Agree to Terms with 2nd Round Selection from 2012 First-Year Player Draft
OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A's agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Nolan Sanburn, their second round selection from the 2012 First-Year Player draft, the club announced today.
Sanburn, a sophomore from the University of Arkansas, was one of the A’s two second round picks, the 74th overall selection. Sanburn went 4-1 with a 2.43 ERA in 22 games, four starts, with the Razorbacks. In 40.2 innings, he struck out 49, walked 22 and did not allow a home run. Sanburn earned Freshman All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball in 2011 after recording a team-leading eight saves.
Sanburn was the A’s final signing before the 2:00 pm Pacific Time signing deadline today. The A's signed 33 of their 43 picks, including each of the first five, 12 of the first 13 and 32 of the first 36.
