BALTIMORE -- As a concession to his struggling offense, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly juggled his batting order on Sunday, flipping the hot Adrian Gonzalez and the cold Matt Kemp.
Gonzalez, batting .377 with two homers and 13 RBIs as the fourth hitter, was moved to the three-hole. Kemp, batting .206 with no homers and five RBIs as the third hitter, was moved to the cleanup spot.
Kemp's lack of production and power comes in the wake of serious shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum. He is hitting only .179 against right-handed pitching.
Gonzalez came into Sunday's game third in the league in batting (.377) and tied for sixth in on-base percentage (.444).
Sunday's lineup also included Skip Schumaker as the designated hitter.
Mattingly changes plans with rotation
BALTIMORE -- The injury to Chad Billingsley has forced Dodgers manager Don Mattingly to scrap plans to juggle his starting rotation for the upcoming series in New York that starts on Tuesday night.
Clayton Kershaw will pitch Tuesday night, Ted Lilly will pitch Wednesday night and Hyun-Jin Ryu will pitch Thursday's day game.
Mattingly had considered moving Josh Beckett up a day to Thursday to break up the trio of left-handers. But now he said that won't happen.
Lilly is coming off the disabled list to make the start, his first since last May, having undergone left shoulder surgery (labrum).
• The Dodgers' international scouting department announced the signings of three more players from the Dominican Republic.
Those signing are right-handed pitcher Osiris Ramirez from Puerto Plata, right-handed pitcher Angel German from Bani and third baseman Jimy Perez from Bani.
• Joe Torre, MLB executive vice president and former Dodgers manager, visited current Dodgers manager Don Mattingly before Sunday's game.
Torre was in the area on Saturday night to watch the thoroughbred horse he co-owns, Game On Dude, win the $1.5 million Charles Town Classic in West Virginia.
