Arlington, Texas-The Texas Rangers made the following roster moves today to get to the opening day limit of 25 players:

--Purchased the contract of infielder Josh Wilson from Triple-A Round Rock of the Pacific Coast League.

--Designated infielder Adam Rosales for assignment. The Rangers have 10 days to trade, release, or outright Rosales to the minor leagues.

--Placed three players on the 15-day disabled list:

                RHP Yu Darvish retroactive to March 21 with neck stiffness

                INF Jurickson Profar retroactive to March 23 with a torn teres major muscle in his right shoulder

                LHP Matt Harrison retroactive to March 29 as he continues his recovery from back surgery

--Placed C Geovany Soto on the 60-day disabled list as he recovers from surgery to repair torn lateral meniscus cartilage in his right knee.

With today's moves, the Rangers have 39 players on its major league roster.

YU DARVISH UPDATE

Pitcher Yu Darvish continued his throwing program on Sunday at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Darvish threw a 32 pitch bullpen with pitching coach Mike Maddux and reported feeling strong with no physical issues. Darvish will take a day off from throwing on Monday and resume his throwing program on Tuesday.

Darvish was placed on the 15-day disabled list today, retroactive to March 21. Darvish last pitched on March 16 vs. the Chicago White Sox and was scratched from his next scheduled outing on March 21 due to neck stiffness.
