OAKLAND - The first-place Oakland A's, sporting the best record (30-17) in Major League Baseball, return home Monday afternoon for one of the most anticipated homestands of the season, as they welcome two of baseball's biggest stars in Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout.

The homestand opens with a rematch of the 2012 and 2013 American League Division Series, when Cabrera, Justin Verlander, and the rest of the Detroit Tigers take on the A's for a 1:05 p.m. matinee on Memorial Day. The series continues with 7:05 p.m. games Tuesday and Wednesday, and concludes with a special matinee version of Patelco Throwback Thursday on May 29 at 12:35 p.m.

Beginning Friday, May 30, the A's welcome Trout, Albert Pujols, and the second-place Los Angeles Angels, who are fighting with the A's for the top spot in the American League West. The three-game series includes the Catfish Hunter Bobblehead Giveaway on Saturday night, when the 1974 World Series champions-including Hall of Famers Reggie Jackson and Rollie Fingers and other stars-are feted on the field prior to the game. That '74 club accomplished something no other Bay Area professional sports team has ever done-win a third-straight world title.
