Pirates' Bay named September's NL Rookie of Month
tickets for any Major League Baseball game
With six home runs and 22 RBI, Jason Bay of the Pittsburgh Pirates has been voted National League Rookie of the Month of September, his third award of the season.

Bay's RBI total was a league best among rookies and his six home runs were tied for the league high during the month. Over 26 games he batted .260, recording 26 hits in 100 at bats, adding 5 doubles and two triples. He also compiled a .530 slugging percentage and a .336 on-base percentage while scoring 13 runs.

Other rookies receiving votes included: San Francisco's Noah Lowry (3-0, 3.21 ERA); David Wright of the Mets (.302, 6 HR 16 RBI); Cincinnati's Luke Hudson (3-1, 1.33 ERA); Adam LaRoche of the Braves (.348, 4 HR, 14 RBI); Colorado's Luis Gonzalez (.404, 2 HR, 8 RBI) and Jeff Francis (3-0, 2.30 ERA); Yhency Brazoban of the Dodgers (5-2, 4.32 ERA); Montreal's Termel Sledge (.281, 5 HR, 20 RBI) and Chad Cordero (2-0, 0.60 ERA); and Gavin Floyd of the Phillies (2-0, 3.49 ERA).

Bay will receive a specially-designed award for being voted National League Rookie of the Month for September.
