OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland A's today reinstated shortstop Bobby Crosby from the 15-day disabled list. To clear a spot on the roster, the A's have optioned second baseman Keith Ginter to Triple-A Sacramento.

Crosby was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 6, retroactive to April 5, with stress fractures in his ninth and 10th ribs. He was the A's Opening Day starter at shortstop and went 1-for-2 before leaving the game after striking out in the fourth inning. Crosby hit .190 with two RBI on a six-game rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton and Sacramento. He went 3-for-9 in three games with Stockton from May 21-26 and was 1-for-12 in three games with Sacramento from May 27-29.

Ginter was batting .169 in 26 games with the A's although he had 18 RBI on just 14 hits. He was just 3-for-26 (.115) over his last nine games.
