A's decline to exersice contract option on Hatteberg
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland A's today announced that they will not exercise their contract option on designated hitter Scott Hatteberg for the 2006 season.

Hatteberg hit .256 with seven home runs and 59 RBI in 134 games for the A's in 2004. He began the season as the A's first baseman, where he started 48 of the A's first 65 games, but ended the season by starting 66 of the A's final 97 games at designated hitter. The 35-year old Hatteberg hit .269 with 49 home runs and 263 RBI in four seasons with Oakland.
