A's sell contract of Matt Watson to Chiba Lotte of Japanese Leagues

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland A's today announced that they have sold the contract of minor league outfielder Matt Watson to Chiba Lotte of the Japanese Leagues. Watson was batting .317 with five home runs and 28 RBI in 32 games at Triple-A Sacramento this year. He appeared in 19 games with Oakland last year and hit .188 with no home runs and five RBI. Watson is a .183 career hitter in 34 games in the Majors, including 15 games with the New York Mets in 2003.
