A's agree to terms with 10 players from First-Year Player Draft
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

OAKLAND -- The Oakland A's today announced that they have agreed to terms with 10 players from the 2008 First-Year Player Draft held last Thursday and Friday. The players are OF Jeremy Barfield (8th round, San Jacinto College), C Mitchell LeVier (9th, Fullerton College), OF David Thomas (14th, Catawba College), 3B Rodney Rutherford (20th, Columbus State), RHP Mathieu Leblanc-Poirier (21st, Ahuntsic College); LHP Trey Barham (25th, Virginia Military Institute); RHP Ryan Doolittle (26th, Cumberland County College), 2B Kevin Jernigan (30th, South Alabama), RHP Mickey Storey (31st, Florida Atlantic) and RHP Shawn Haviland (33rd, Harvard).

Barfield is the son of former Major Leaguer Jesse Barfield and hit .351 with 14 home runs and 63 RBI in 57 games for San Jacinto College last year. LeVier was named Southern California Junior College Co-Player of the Year after hitting .405 with 11 home runs and 50 RBI in 44 games for Fullerton College. Doolittle is the brother of A's prospect Sean Doolittle.
