OAKLAND -- The Oakland A's today announced that they have agreed to terms with six more players from the 2008 First-Year Player Draft held last Thursday and Friday, including their second round selection, right-handed pitcher Tyson Ross from the University of California. Also agreeing to terms are SS Jason Christian (5th round, Michigan), SS Nino Leyja (15th, Houston Christian HS), RHP Matthews Fitts (16th, Lewis-Clark State College), RHP Michael Hart (19th, Texas State) and RHP Kenny Smalley (24th, Delta State).

Ross was a two-time All-Pac-10 selection at Cal and was 7-4 with a 4.25 ERA in 12 starts for the Bears in 2008. He was born in Berkeley and graduated from Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland. Christian hit .330 with seven home runs and 48 RBI in 50 games at Michigan and was named first team All-Big 10. Fitts attended Lewis-Clark State College but graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa.

The A's have now signed or agreed to terms with 16 of their draft picks, including four of the top nine.
