The Oakland A's outrighted right-handed pitchers John Meloan and Justin Souza, infielder Jeff Larish and outfielder Gabe Gross to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today. Gross and Larish both elected free agency.

Gross spent the entire season with the A's and batted .239 with one home run and 25 RBI in 105 games. He made 45 of his 54 starts against right-handed pitchers, against whom he batted .253 with his only home run and 19 of his 25 RBI. Gross batted .309 in 37 games through June 3 and .188 over his final 68 contests.

Larish was claimed off waivers from Detroit August 3 and hit .175 with two home runs and eight RBI in 24 games over two stints with Oakland after going 2 for 10 in three games with the Tigers. He also combined for a .284 batting average, 23 doubles, 20 home runs and 74 RBI in 92 games with Triple-A Toledo and Sacramento.

Meloan missed the entire season after undergoing "Tommy John" surgery on his right elbow March 30.

Souza split his season between Double-A Midland and Sacramento. He went 2-2 with six saves and a 3.38 ERA in 28 relief appearances for the Rockhounds and had no decisions and an 8.00 ERA in five outings with the River Cats for a 4.22 ERA in 33 games overall. Souza missed the final month of the season with a stress fracture in his right elbow.
