Game 1 of twin bill with O's postponed

Clubs hoping rain lets up in time for Game 2 tonight

BALTIMORE -- Round one goes to Mother Nature.

With hopes of getting in a day-night doubleheader on Saturday, the Orioles and A's came up against Tropical Storm Hanna and its path up the East Coast. The conditions were deemed unplayable by 10:20 a.m. ET, at least for the first game, scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET.

The second game, scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET, has not yet been postponed. The pitching matchup for Saturday night's game will be Orioles right-hander Daniel Cabrera against the A's left-hander Greg Smith.

The doubleheader was originally scheduled to avoid conflicts with the Baltimore Ravens game at neighboring M&T Bank Stadium Sunday afternoon. Both clubs share parking lots, creating a logistical nightmare if the two teams were to play at the same time.
