A’s to Attempt Guinness World Record for Most Dogs to Attend a Sporting Event
WHAT: Oakland A's Dog Day at the Park
The A’s Seventh Annual Dog Day at the Park, presented by AvoDerm, Adams, and Nylabone, is set for Thursday, July 19 as the A’s host the New York Yankees at 7:05 p.m.
This year, the A’s will attempt the Guinness World Record for most dogs to attend a sporting event. The team is required to get at least 600 dogs to attend the game in order to be considered for the world record.
For $17, A's fans and their dogs can watch the game from the pet-friendly Plaza Reserved section of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Prior to the game, fans and their canines are invited to participate in a “Pup Rally” in A Lot and “Pup Parade” around the warning track of the field. Each dog in attendance will receive an A’s bandana and a goody bag of dog product samples.
REGISTRATION: Tickets to A's Dog Day at the Park are only available by pre-registering online through www.oaklandathletics.com/dogday by Monday, July 16. All dog owners must bring a copy of a current vaccination document from a licensed veterinarian. All dogs must wear an identification tag to the game and be accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older.
BENEFICIARY: A portion of the proceeds from A’s Dog Day at the Park will benefit Dogs4Diabetics, a non-profit organization that trains medical-alert service dogs to detect hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) in humans and alert their partner or other family member of the situation.
