A's designate IF Adam Rosales for assignment

The Oakland A's designated infielder Adam Rosales for assignment, the club announced today. The move clears a 25-man roster spot for infielder Alberto Callaspo, who joins the A's today after being acquired in a trade from the Los Angeles Angels yesterday.

Rosales was selected from Sacramento July 24 for his second stint with the A's this year. He went 0 for 5 with two walks in two starts at shortstop and was hitting .193 with four home runs and eight RBI in 50 games overall with the A's. Rosales is batting .211 in nine games with Triple-A Sacramento.
