Donnie Murphy provided all of Oakland's offense with a three-run double in the second inning. The A's left 19 runners on base. Mark Ellis had a pair of hits.

Horacio Ramirez, who gave up three runs in six innings, improved to 6-0 at Safeco Field this season. J.J. Putz recorded four outs en route to his 30th save.
