Phoenix Municipal Stadium Renovation
The A's and City of Phoenix have begun renovating Phoenix Municipal Stadium, home of the A's Spring Training. Phoenix Municipal Stadium was originally built in 1964 and is one of the oldest facilities in the Cactus League. The renovation project is scheduled to take nine months, ending December 31st.
Phoenix Municipal Stadium Improvements
The remodeling includes the following improvements:
The Press Box will be increased from 800sq. ft. to 3,000sq ft. The new Press Box will be indoors with state of the art facilities, air conditioning and an elevator. The current canopy over the Press Box will remain intact. The media dining facility will also be improved and brought indoors.
The dugouts will be doubled in size, dropped down below ground level and protective fencing will be added.
The A's administrative buildings on the property will be remodeled and increased in size.
The Box Office and Team Shop will be reconfigured to improve the fan experience and make both facilities more convenient. These changes will also allow for the main entrance to be increased in size for better fan access. Entry gates will also be added in Left Field and behind Home Plate. The entry gates and concourse will have increased signage to help direct fans.
A historical time line of Phoenix Municipal and the Cactus League will be added to the main concourse. The main concourse will also be updated to prevent the reflection and glare of the Arizona Sun
The outdoor, grass picnic and catering areas will be improved.
Approximately 150 premium seats will be added behind home plate and the protective screen behind home plate will be replaced.
