50/50 Raffle FAQs

  1. Who is eligible to purchase 50/50 Raffle tickets?
    No person affiliated with the eligible organization, affiliated sports team, affiliated association, eligible recipient organization, or a registered manufacturer and distributor of raffle-related products or services, including any affiliated person, any employee or agent, or their immediate family member, may participate in any registered event as a raffle player or receive a raffle prize. Participants must be 18 years old to play.
  2. How long are 50/50 tickets sold?
    Raffle Team Members will be selling tickets from the time the gates open until the end of the 6th inning. Raffle Team Members can be found on the concourse behind Section 217 and walking the ballpark wearing bright-gold t-shirts.
  3. When is the winning number displayed?
    The winning number will be displayed during bottom of the 7th inning on the scoreboard.
  4. Do I have to be present to win?
    Ticket holders need not be present to win.
  5. Where can I find the winning number?
    The winning number will be announced via the Public Address System, posted on scoreboard, at the 50/50 Raffle Kiosk located in Section 217, online at www.athletics.com/raffle or by calling (510) 638-4900 Ext. 5050.
  6. Does the winner receive the entire amount displayed on the scoreboard?
    The total prize amount of a raffle shall be one-half or 50 percent of the gross proceeds collected from the sale of the raffle tickets displayed on the scoreboard.
  7. If I have the winning ticket, where do I take my ticket to claim my prize?
    The winning ticket should be presented to the manual draw supervisor or fiduciary at the 50/50 Raffle Kiosk located at Section 217.
  8. Will the winner receive the money on the night they win?
    No, after you complete the appropriate paperwork, you will receive a check in the designated time period.
  9. How long does it take to get the money?
    The winner will receive a check within 6-8 weeks after filling out the appropriate paperwork to claim their prize.
  10. I'm out of town, how do I get my money?
    The Oakland A's can mail a check to the address provided by the winner.
  11. Where does the other half of the money go?
    The remaining proceeds will be used by the Oakland A's Community Fund to support charitable organizations that aim to improve the quality of life for people throughout the Bay Area.
  12. Are my winnings taxed?
    Yes, the Athletics will provide the winners with the appropriate tax documentation forms.
  13. What methods of payment do you accept?
    50/50 Raffle Team Members will accept cash only.
