YOU CAN HELP TAKE A STAND
Each year, the Oakland A's and Macy's team up for the 5K Fun Run to raise funds for charity. In 2005, the event raised over $25,000 for charitable causes. On Father's Day 2006, we will celebrate and honor men who are making the world a safer place for all of our daughters and sons by helping to end violence against women and children.

OUR MISSION
For more than 25 years, the Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF) has been a global leader in the struggle to end violence against women and children. Through national education and awareness programs, community-based outreach and professional training programs for doctors, judges, police officers and lawmakers, the FVPF helps protect millions of women and children each year, while engaging millions more to be part of the solution.

Working in communities across the U.S. on innovative programs such as Coaching Boys into Men®, the FVPF is leading the country in efforts to engage all men, especially coaches, as allies in ending violence. Fathers, grandfathers, uncles and coaches can all be part of the solution by becoming "new" founding fathers and making a promise to talk to boys early and often about treating women and girls with respect.

This Father's Day, the Oakland A's and Macy's ask that you give back to your families and communities and support the Family Violence Prevention Fund by participating in the race.

While the problem for which we all run is a serious one, this race offers a fun way for you and your family to be part of the solution!
