A's Amigos

The A's Amigos program gives our community's Hispanic children the opportunity to interact with bilingual Spanish speaking A's players. Participants are able to learn about the value of sportsmanship and hard work from their role models. In addition to the pre-game chat, each child receives a game ticket and an A's cap. Sponsored by Kelly-Moore Paints.
Applications for the 2009 season will be available in February.
Baseball Basics

Members of youth baseball organizations get the chance to learn from the best. Through the A's Baseball Basics program, select little league teams will attend a clinic with an A's player before an A's home game. Each participant also receives a game ticket and an A's cap courtesy of Health Net, A Better Choice.
Applications for the 2009 season will be available in February.
Take the Field with the A's

The Take the Field with the A's program selects youth baseball and softball teams to join Oakland A's players on the field during the National Anthem, giving the youth a chance to live out their Major League dreams. Each participant receives an autographed baseball courtesy of the Oakland A's Community Fund. Sponsored by Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.
Applications are now available through the end of March. Email
community@oaklandathletics.com to receive an application.
Race Around the Bases

Children 14 and under are invited onto the field after every Sunday day game to run the same bases that the A's do. A's mascot Stomper is present to cheer the participants on as they round the bases. Sponsored by Oh Boy! Oberto Beef Jerkey.
Ken Korach's A's Winning for the Community
Every game that the A's win this season, play-by-play radio announcer Ken Korach, and the A's Community Fund will team up to donate $200 to support Oakland Athletic League high school baseball programs. These much needed funds will go towards new equipment, uniforms, and maintenance of the baseball fields.
If you would like to assist us in our efforts to support high school baseball in Oakland, checks can be made payable to "Oakland A's Community Fund - Winning for the Community" and mailed to:

Learn Skills and Play Games
Learn baseball the same way Major Leaguers do. The A's Youth Camp is a week of action-packed fun that combines baseball skills training with actual games. You'll learn throwing, catching, infield techniques, and hitting. We use the same drills Major League and college-level players use. These drills are effective, fun and will strengthen your ability and confidence. You'll have a chance to apply your new skills because you'll play at least one game each afternoon.
We Make Learning Fun!
Camp is open to ballplayers between the ages of 8 and 12. Skill level doesn't matter. Each camp will be divided by age and skill level so you'll be practicing with other kids at your level.
Learn from the Pros
We make sure we have the right type of coaches for the week. There is one coach assigned for every eight campers to ensure highly personalized instruction. Meet, and learn from, former Major League Baseball players when they make special guest appearances at each camp. They'll be demonstrating their skills, helping teach, and signing autographs! Now, how cool is that!
Look Like a Pro
You'll receive an Oakland A's batting jersey, cap and tickets to a specific A's game in August 2008.
The Details
The camp runs from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The total week-long camp is only $325.
A Special Clinic for Parents
We will host a clinic for the parents of each camper during the week of camp. Parents will go through the instructional drills so they can better understand what their children are learning. Parents will have fun and their kids will have fun watching.
Camps Will Be Held At These Great Locations Around The Bay Area
July 14 - 18: Oakland/Caldecott Tunnel
July 28 - Aug. 1: San Ramon
