A's Amigos
The A's Amigos program gives our community's Hispanic children the opportunity to interact with bilingual Spanish speaking A's players. Participants are able to learn about the value of sportsmanship and hard work from their role models. In addition to the pre-game chat, each child receives a game ticket and an A's cap. Sponsored by Kelly-Moore Paints.
We are no longer accepting applications for the 2009 season.
Take the Field with the A's
The Take the Field with the A's program selects youth baseball and softball teams to join Oakland A's players on the field during the National Anthem, giving the youth a chance to live out their Major League dreams. Each participant receives an autographed baseball courtesy of the Oakland A's Community Fund. Sponsored by Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.
We are no longer accepting applications for the 2009 season.
Race Around the Bases

Children 14 and under are invited onto the field after every Sunday day game to run the same bases that the A's do. A's mascot Stomper is present to cheer the participants on as they round the bases.
Ken Korach's A's Winning for the Community
The Ken Korach "A's Winning for the Community" Program raised $24,000 for the Oakland Athletic League high school baseball programs, to fund equipment, uniforms and field maintenance. Funds were raised through donations by A's radio play-by-play announcer Ken Korach and the A's Community Fund for each A's win this season, in addition to fan donations and corporate sponsorship.

The RBI and "Pick up a Ball, Pick up a Book" programs are structured for children ages 10 to 19 years old, who are members of the Boys & Girls Club of Oakland. The programs will begin with a Super Summer Baseball league and a Fall Instruction League. Participating high school juniors and seniors will be eligible for gained six units of college credit through the six-week program and tutoring for elementary and middle school participants will be provided through the Boys & Girls Club Power Hour classes.
A banquet was held to recognize the children who completed the academic and baseball programs. At that time the Oakland A's Community Fund donated $15,000 to the RBI program. 43 children participated in the in 2008 and that number is expected to double in 2009.

A's Join Forces with CPYC
California Police Youth Charities (CPYC) and the Oakland A's are working together on bringing local at-risk children to select Oakland A's home games during the regular season. Prior to the games, the children are allowed down on the field to watch the A's take batting practice and receive the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet an Oakland A's player and receive an autograph. CPYC is Cops for Kids.
