Join Bob Geren and the Oakland A's at the annual Community Fund Golf Classic on Thursday, June 25, with proceeds benefiting the A's Community Fund, which supports charitable organizations in improving the quality of life for people throughout the Bay Area. The exclusive Castlewood Country Club will host the day. Activities include a long drive contest featuring current and past A's, exclusive tee prizes including an official Majestic Dugout Jacket, opportunity to participate in numerous activities and contests while on the golf course, breakfast, on-course BBQ's, dinner, and unlimited beverages all day. The Community Fund Golf Classic is presented in part by Chevron and State Roofing Systems. The day is also sponsored in part by Union Bank. Breast Cancer Awareness Day On September 5, the A's raised $116,750 on Breast Cancer Awareness Day with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society and Northern California Cancer Center. Over the past 10 years, the A's Breast Cancer Awareness Day has raised over $1,000,000 for breast cancer education and research. Funds were raised through the sale of special ticket packages, commemorative pins and hats and an A's autographed quilt raffle.
In addition, as a part of "A Gift of Faith" grant, the A's donated $5,000 to the Carol Ann Read Breast Health Center in memory of longtime KTVU Channel 2 reporter, the late Faith Fancher. A's Breast Cancer Awareness Day was presented by Olay Skin Care and additional sponsors included Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Contra Costa Times, Chevron, Comcast, Ghirardelli Chocolate, Ross Dress For Less and State Roofing Systems.
Every Saturday during the 2009 regular season will be "Oakland A's E-waste Saturdays" Presented by AER Worldwide. A's fans have the opportunity to recycle electronics beginning 2-1/2 hours prior to game time and up to game time.
All fans who recycle an electronic item will receive a 2 for 1 A's ticket voucher for an upcoming 2009 regular season A's game; some restrictions do apply:
Voucher must be exchanged at the Coliseum Box Office only
Voucher good for A's 2009 regular season home games only
Voucher not valid for 4/10, 4/13-4/16, 4/24, 5/23, 6/22-6/24, 6/26, 8/17-8/19, 8/22, 9/18
Electronics will be accepted at the 66th Avenue entrance in the Creekside Lot as well as at gates C & D
Cars can pull-up and drop-off with AER Worldwide staffing assistance at the Creekside Lot
Fans must hand carry items to gates C & D
All material will be securely recycled in an environmentally sound manner
AER Worldwide is a Fremont based global company that provides electronics distribution and e-waste recycling services to electronics manufacturers.

Every Saturday and Sunday home game (and select weekday games) the A's Community Fund hosts a silent auction featuring both signed and unsigned A's memorabilia, and game used items. The silent auction is located in the A's Fan Center behind section 120 and ends with the last out in the bottom of the 5th inning. Purchased items are tax deductible.
