Orlando Cabrera and the Signed Baseball going to June's Lucky Winner!
Ryan Landis of Mesa, CA is June's lucky winner of an autographed Orlando Cabrera baseball. Thank you for participating in June "Ask the A's" Ryan!

Q: Thrilled to have you on the A's especially with your positive attitude and can-do mentality. I was wondering when the time comes for you to retire what do you want fans and players to remember you as? Do you have a certain legacy or certain moments that you want remembered when someone thinks of your name 20 years from now? What are some of your proudest moments so far in your MLB career? - Ryan Landis, Mesa, CA

A: I would say...wow, well I would say I am always trying to teach the guys coming on that the most important thing in life is your family, your know your wife and kids...and nothing, not even baseball is more important than that and it's tough because in baseball your career is such and important thing, and you get distracted, but I think I want to be remembered for the love I have for my wife and kids. My proudest moments are the moments when I have been recognized as the guy who likes to win and to be seen as a winner, when they give me that recognition and respect that's all I need and all I want.

Q: How do you compare this team with the past teams you've played with, and do you see this team becoming a possible contender for the playoffs this year? - Arnie Agatep, Mountain View

A: I never like to compare because everybody is different and everybody has a different philosophy, so it is not fair for me to compare this team with other teams. I can tell you a lot of positive things about this team, these guys are willing to go all the way and I see a lot of winners on the team. Andyeah, I see the team as a contender in the future.

Q: Even as a veteran player I'm sure you remember your rookie years just as much. Can you explain the differences of veteran years to how you approached each game as a rookie, both mentally and physically? - Brad Stark, Riverbank, CA

A: It is more mental as a rookie because you kind of see everything so fast and instincts take over. These days, mentally, I prepare myself in a different way because I like to visualize and see the plays and the routines. I feel more confident and comfortable when I see things before they happen.
