The A's are pleased to announce a FREE "Fan Appreciation Workout Day", presented by Sports Gallery, which will take place on Sunday, April 5 at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Fan Appreciation Workout Day will give fans a chance to preview the complete A's roster as the team holds its final workout before Opening Day 2009. Admission is FREE, parking is FREE. Parking gates open at 8 a.m. The event takes place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
FREE Event highlights include:
- Q & A sessions at home plate
- Autograph sessions on the field
- Press Box tours
- The sale of game worn jerseys of your favorite current and past A's players and coaches
- Photos with World Series Trophies, sponsored by Central Garden & Pet
- Photos with 2008 All-Star A's Statue of Liberty, sponsored by Ross Dress For Less
- On field workout allows fans a chance to preview the complete A's roster as the team holds its final workout before Opening Day 2009. Come see the newest Oakland A's: Jason Giambi, Matt Holliday, Orlando Cabrera, and Nomar Garciaparra. Manager Bob Geren, along with coaches and broadcasters will provide highlights of the workout as it occurs.

The 2009 schedule provides a unique window in which to hold such a special event on the day before Opening Day. The A's will play the Giants in the annual exhibition series on April 2nd-3rd in San Francisco, followed by the series finale in Oakland on Saturday April 4th. Fan Appreciation Workout Day, on Sunday April 5th, will take place on the scheduled off-day before the A's open the season in Anaheim on April 6.
