A's AMIGOS

opportunity to interact with bilingual Spanish speaking players in a pre-game
chat. In addition, each child receives a game ticket and an A's cap.
A's BASEBALL BASICS
The A's Baseball Basics program offers select little league teams the
opportunity to attend a clinic with an A's player before an A's home game.
Each participant also receives a game ticket and an A's cap.
RACE AROUND THE BASES
After select home Sunday games children 14 and under are invited onto the
field after the game to run the bases.
LITTLE A's
Bay Area non-profit organizations are invited to bring low to moderate
income children to enjoy an A's game. Each guest receives a game ticket
and souvenirs.
A's FITNESS SLUGGERS
The A's Fitness Sluggers Program is designed to educate children about health and fitness by helping them to adopt beneficial eating habits and daily physical activity. Geared towards children ages 9 through 12, children participating in this program will receive a workbook that will enable them to log their physical activity and meal consumptions on a daily basis over a four week period. A select number of participating children will be randomly invited to the A's Children's Health & Fitness Awareness Day to be held on July 12, 2008.
A's COMMUNITY FUND
The A's Community Fund supports charitable organizations in their efforts to
improve educational programs, aid the underprivileged, assist in crime and
drug prevention and service children, seniors, and those who work to improve
the quality of life for people throughout the Bay Area. The Community Fund
believes in the need to invest in the community's future. The best way to
make this investment is through programs and donations that support youth
and the community as a whole.
The A's Community Fund donates over $500,000 annually to various
charitable organizations in the form of tickets, autographed memorabilia and
monetary donations. The A's help fundraise for charities through Special
Events such as the A's Community Fund Golf Tournament, Breast Cancer
Awareness Day, Mathletics Math Program, Baseball: 101 Clinics, DARE Day,
and Root Beer Float Day. These events, as well as other educational and
baseball programs listed below, are ideal opportunities for our Corporate
Partners to get involved in the Community while simultaneously receiving
brand exposure and association with the specific cause.
HOME RUN READERS
Teachers and administrators enroll in this program to promote the importance
of literacy and to encourage reading in the classroom. Students who achieve
their goals receive free A's giveaways or a visit to their school from an A's
player, coach, front office employee, or A's mascot Stomper.
MATHLETICS
This program consists of mathematics workbooks for students in grades 1-8,
using baseball statistics and formulas. Children who complete the workbook
receive tickets to Mathletics Day at an A's game.
GREEN STAMPEDE HOME WORK CLUB
Before select A's home games, teachers and volunteers from local schools
offer tutoring for at-risk students at McAfee Coliseum. Students who attend
the study group are rewarded with tickets to that night's game. A's players
and coaches join the group for a question and answer session and autographs
once a season.
TAKE THE FIELD WITH THE A's
Every Sunday home game the A's select a youth baseball or softball team to
join the Oakland A's players on the field during the National Anthem. Each
participant receives an autographed baseball.
