On Friday, July 17, the A's held their fourth annual Dog Day at The Park at the Coliseum, presented by AvoDerm. Fans were invited to bring their dogs to the park and help cheer on their home team as the A's defeated the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 7-3.

The fun started with a pre-game "Pup Rally" where A's fans and their dogs were invited to watch and participate in various contests. Afterwards everyone was invited to participate in the "Pup Parade" as fans and their dogs paraded around the warning track of the field at the Coliseum. Also at the "Pup Rally" and leading the "Pup Parade" was "Pabst," the winner of the "World's Ugliest Dog" contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair. Each dog in attendance received an A's bandana and a goody bag of dog product samples.
With a sold-out 500 dog tickets the A's donated a portion of the proceeds to Dogs4Diabetics, a non-profit organization that trains medical-alert service dogs to detect hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) in diabetic youths and adults and alert their partner or other family member of the situation.
The A's would like to thank all fans and pups that participated in the event. Please check back in March 2010 for information and to sign up for next year's Dog Day at the Park.
