Dog Day at the Park

On Friday, July 17, the A's will hold their fourth annual Dog Day at The Park at the Coliseum, presented by AvoDerm. Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the park and help cheer on their home team as the A's host the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at 7:05 p.m..

The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with a pre-game "Pup Rally" in in the North K parking lot where each Pup will receive a goodie bag containing an A's bandana and samples of dry dog food from AvoDerm. The rally will also feature contests including a best dressed and best trick contest as well as a contest for the dog that looks most like its owner.

The A's will donate a portion of the proceeds to Dogs4Diabetics, a non-profit organization that trains medical-alert service dogs to detect hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) in diabetic youths and adults and alert their partner or other family member of the situation.

Online registration is required. Deadline to register is Sunday, July 12.

All dog owners must bring a copy of a current vaccination document from a licensed veterinarian. All dogs must wear an identification tag to the game and be accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older.

Waiver and General Release of Claims and Covenants Not to Sue I, the undersigned, fully understand, appreciate and agree that I have voluntarily requested to participate in an event entitled "Dog Day" at the Coliseum in Oakland. "Dog Day" will involve my attendance and the attendance of one (1) dog of which I have custody. I understand that by participating in this event, my actions may result in anticipated and/or unanticipated injuries and damage to myself and others including my dog; as well as the dogs of others. I hereby represent that the dog of which I have custody during the event is in good health. I confirm and assure that the dog has current rabies vaccinations. I agree to abide by any decision of any Athletics official, or third party contracted on behalf of the Athletics, concerning my ability or the ability of the dog of which I have custody to participate in this event safely, and I further agree that Athletics officials may authorize necessary treatment for me and/or the dog in my custody. I understand, appreciate and agree that I assume any and all the risks associated with my participation in this event including, but not limited to, injury and property damage including injury to dogs, illness, falls, contact with spectators at the event, injuries or damages sustained by and through other participants' dogs, the effects of the weather including extreme temperatures and humidity, the condition of the Coliseum in Oakland, including all sidewalks and parking lots. I agree to abide by all the rules and instructions given in connection with this event. I assume the risk for injuries and damages sustained as a result of the manner and method by which the event is administered. I acknowledge that I have completed the "Dog Day 2009 Application." I understand that I am solely responsible for the accuracy of information that is contained therein, and I hold the parties as identified below released from liability and any responsibility for verifying the information contained in the application whether the information was provided by me or a third party. I hereby grant to such parties named in this waiver the perpetual right to use for publicity or promotional purpose, my name or pictures of me and my dog in any media without any liability or obligation to me.
