manager at Rookie- Level Spokane in 1994, skippering the Indians to a 30-46 mark...was the Padres' minor league
outfield and baserunning instructor from 1989-1993...began his professional coaching career at Rookie-Level
Spokane in 1998.
Playing Career:
Played 11 seasons in the minor leagues and part of four seasons at the Major League level...drafted by the
St. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round of the 1977 First-Year Player Draft...in his first season of professional ball,
batted .320 and led the league in hits, runs and RBI and was named the Pioneer League Player of the Year...
made his Major League debut with the Cardinals in 1980, appearing in five games...following that season he
was traded to Chicago to complete a deal that sent Leon Durham and Kevin Reitz to the Cubs for Bruce Sutter...
appeared in 30 games for the Cubs in 1981, batting .268 with three home runs and 13 RBI...traded across town
to the White Sox in December, 1982...signed with the Astros as a free agent in 1983.

Elliott Tyrone (Tye) Waller...served as the Padres Director of Player Development for six years (2000-05) prior to
returning to the field for the 2006 season...entering his 19th season in the Padres organization...he and his wife,
Cynthia, have four children, Elliott (January 6, 1984), and triplets Todd, Terrence and Tiffany (May 27, 1986)...after
graduating from Hoover High in Fresno, CA, attended San Diego City College for two years.
